Printful's free plan includes its Mockup Generator. It also has AI mockups that put your design on a model or in a lifestyle scene. Printful's help center says they're available for select apparel products, only when creating a new product, with 10 attempts a day (Printful Help).

Canva isn't a dedicated mockup tool, but it's the easiest place to build listing graphics around your mockups: size charts, "what's included" images and banners.

The catch: AI-generated models
Some mockups and AI photo tools (Printful's AI mockups, Photoroom's AI fashion models) can show a realistic person who doesn't exist. New York's law on AI "synthetic performers" in ads took effect on June 9, 2026. Printful's help center says mockups with fully AI-generated people in marketplace listings are "likely in scope," that the seller is responsible for the disclosure, and that Printful shows an AI disclaimer on affected mockups (Printful Help).
Flat lays, hanger shots and product-only images don't include a person, so they aren't synthetic performers. If you want the simplest path, use those. Otherwise, see how to disclose AI models.
Etsy's rule on listing photos
Etsy's Seller Policy asks for your own photographs rather than stock photos or artistic renderings, with limited exceptions for custom items and items made with a production partner (Etsy Seller Policy). Read that section before relying only on mockups, and consider adding a photo of a real sample.
